I talked with the managers at my 2 local Hobby Lobby stores. The first one didn't know what I was talking about and gave me a phone number for corporate. The second one wants me to get my certification first and then come up and see her. Hopefully it all works out in the end.

They finally shipped the materials. Unfortunately I won't receive the package until the day after Labor Day. I was hoping to work during Labor Day weekend. Oh well. I will post pictures of the materials once the package arrives.

I hope they get a working email address on their website soon. I called them and told them the one they had posted wasn't working, and they changed it. But the new one doesn't work either.
I'm still waiting to receive my package containing my certification materials. Hopefully it arrives this week.

My Bill Alexander dedication video

This is slightly different than the video I posted on YouTube. This one is hosted on LiveLeak.

I know a couple of people on the bobrosspaintingclub Yahoo group are now interested in the Alexander Art certification since it has been brought up and discussed there. Instead of over running the group with every little detail on my certification progress, I figured this blog would better serve me. I will be coming back here to update my progress as much as I can.

The certification program is a 6 month program, but I've been told by Walt Burger, the certification director, that it can be completed in far less than 6 months. I'm hoping to get it done in about 1 month if not sooner. I'm still waiting for my kit to arrive from Alexander Art. It will contain an Alexander oil painting kit, instructional videos, instructional book and a certification manual.

With what robshannon98 has posted on the group about being able to successfully hold classes at a couple of Hobby Lobby stores, I've become pretty excited about starting this certification. My plan is similiar to Rob's. There are 2 stores in my town that have been without an instructor for some time now. With some luck, I think I can fill that void.
