New Alexander Certified Instructor program coordinator
My friend and fellow Alexander Certified Instructor John Heinrichs recently became the new certification coordinator for Alexander Art.
John has a lengthy background in oil and acrylic painting and since becoming certified, he's taught many successful painting classes.
John resides with his wife of many years in Temecula, California.
Free painting DVD
Just an update:
I was offering a free painting DVD, but I've changed the format a bit.
I'm now offering the same 55 minute lesson, only it's available for download instead of a physical DVD. It's still very high quality and just as detailed as the DVD, only you can receive it a lot quicker now and there are no restrictions based on location. In the past, I wasn't able to send my DVD to other countries because of shipping costs. That's no longer the case.

Recent class
It's been a little while since I posted, but I have managed to setup classes at a Hobby Lobby store. I have taught one class so far, I'm lining up more, and I'm going next week to talk to a manager at another Hobby Lobby store. Hopefully I'll be having classes twice a month at 2 different stores.
I must admit I had doubts before signing up for the certification program. I didn't think the local stores would like my work. I also didn't think they would allow me to teach as an Alexander Certified Instructor since they had gotten so used to having Bob Ross instructors in their stores. I was suprised when they welcomed me into their store, and I was even more suprised when students actually signed up to take my class.

I spoke with a manager in a Hobby Lobby about an hour away. He seemed very happy when I asked if he was looking for an oil painting instructor. He even started going over the rules and everything right there on the phone. He is going out of town on vacation and my job won't permit me to meet with him until he returns, but I am certainly going to drive down there and meet with him and show him my portfolio. Hopefully I'll get some classes going.
